Last weekend against Manly officially marked the first third of our season in our 2016 regular season campaign. At the start of the season we had 3 benchmarks to gauge our progress:
1. Performance – every session, every game aiming up and doing your role for the team and the club.
2. Learning – improving in our understanding of the game and making decisions under pressure.
3. Legacy – leaving the club and the team in better shape than when we found it.
So far we are pleased with these areas but far from satisfied. From the 1st day of pre-season we spoke about ONE CLUB, ONE GOAL: CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 and you only have to look at the competition ladders across our teams to see this coming to life. 1st Grade currently sit atop of the ladder after 6 rounds, whilst in Colts so do 3rd Colts. The highest and youngest teams all pulling together for the same reason. Club first, team second and individual third – a simple formula for success for our club, on and off the field. We look forward to bringing this life this weekend versus West Harbour.
Hope to see you around the grounds.

Randwick's unbeaten run came to a cruel end after the bell at a cold, wet and blustery Coogee Oval. A cool dropped goal by Andrew Deegan gave Randwick a slender 20-17 lead but a handling error by the Galloping Greens with 7 seconds to go was seized upon by a Manly team determined to regain the lead which they'd held for most of the game, resulting with a well-taken try in the corner after the bell. Manly made better use of the windy conditions to keep control of the game and pressured Randwick into an unfamiliar kicking game which led to crucial turnovers upon which Manly capitalised to run out winners scoring three tries to two.

A few familiar faces spotted at Coogee Oval....including former players Morgan Turinui, Patrick Phibbs, Ross Curtis, Chris Thompson and Speed Kennedy. Patrick Hodgetts models the new Wicks jacket and Dr Adrian Cohen and physio Di Long keep a close eye on the players from the sideline.
