She did make a difference!

As Vivian, a Community Hospice patient, approached her final months, she saw no need for a funeral, her final wish was to throw herself a celebration of life.  As she put it, “she wanted in on it.” Vivian spent a spring afternoon surrounded by 75 friends, family and shadows from the past. She reconnected with loved ones that she had not visited with in over 40 years. Vivian listened as guest after guest shared eulogies, praises and farewells. She was blanketed in love. In Vivian’s final days, she found peace in the words she heard at her celebration. She did make a difference! She did give enough hugs and say I love you enough. She is remembered.

Donor Appreciation

On February 10, 2016, the Community Hospice Foundation (CHF) held a donor appreciation event at Skewers to celebrate and thank our 2015 fourth quarter top level donors. The evening gave us the opportunity to share with our donors what the CHF funding initiatives are for the next year and how we used their generous donations to support our patients and programs.

Camp Erin Modesto

In 2014, Community Hospice partnered with The Moyer Foundation to bring Camp Erin Modesto to the Central Valley. Camp focuses around healthy healing habits for children and teens ages 6-17 who have lost a close loved one. Camp provides a unique opportunity for grieving children to bond with peers who are facing similar circumstances. Through traditional camp acitivities as well as grief activities campers are able to learn that they are not alone; that their feelings are normal; healthy ways to express their feelings; and to honor/remember their person who died. For more information about Camp Erin Modesto, visit www.camperinmodesto.org or call 209.578.6300.
