Happy Spring
There are some very important upcoming events happening in Secord. Don't miss the Secord Community League Annual General Meeting (AGM) Monday, May 2, 2016 and the Community Wide Garage Sale on May 14, 2016 (deadline to register is May 4th). More details below.
Thank you to all the residents that came out to participate in the community clean up event a few week-ends ago. We appreciate everyone doing their part and keeping Secord clean. We've received numerous complaints on pet waste and garbage in the community. For those with dogs, please remember to scoop your poop; carry a bag with you and pick up your pet's waste whenever you are off your property.
Just a friendly reminder to all residents to please slow down while coming in and going out of the community. Please watch for the children playing in our neighborhood and protect them by driving with care and attention.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) - Secord Community League
May 2, 2016: 7pm- 8:30pm

Everyone who lives in our community is welcome and encouraged to join the AGM.
Learn about what is new in our neighborhood including plans for the new Lewis Farms and Secord schools, Rec Centre update, crime, Summer Shack program and future plans for the Secord Community. Nominations and elections for our Executive positions will also be held.

Community Sign
After many years of effort by the board, we are happy to announce we have a community sign for communication. Look for this at the entrance of the Secord at the Playground Park.
On the backside is a communication board where you may post events that are happening in and around the community. Posting should be on standard paper (8 1/2" X 11") and can remain on the board for one month. Please date your posting and remove after one month has passed.

Garage Sale

If you would like your address included in the official map please email communications@secordcommunityleague.com by May 4th with your address and a general description of your items for sale. i.e. household items, baby clothes, electronics, etc.
We ask that you spread the word and share the event on your Facebook page. We will advertise through our community sign, social media, kijiji, our website and notify other nearby communities.

Summer Green Shack Program
Monday to Friday: July 4 - August 25, 2016 ~ 10:30 to 1:30pm
Secord Playground, 217St & Secord Blvd
Secord Residents can look for the Green Shack playground program back at the Secord Park in July and August. The free drop-in City of Edmonton program is suitable for children 6-12 years old; participants 5 years or younger are welcome to attend accompanied by a parent or guardian. Meet new friends in your neighborhood, join in games, sports, crafts, and fun activities.
