AnB Education Mentoring Program pairs qualified mentors who are international students attending prestigious universities with current AnB Education high school students. Our goal is to motivate and enhance academic growth as well as personal growth through shared experiences.

During this month, one of the Mentees, Jason, contacted our Mentor, Ben from New York University. As Mentor, Ben recognized the problems Jason was facing and helped him solve them. They contacted at least one once a week. Through mentoring program, Jason got a lot of confidence in solving problems as well as in his studying. In the near future, Ben will focus on helping Jason with his subjects in school.

Lively English Conversation

Tuesdays in February saw either Tifeng or Qiyuan engaged in a lively conversation with elderly residents of Morrow Heights, a retirement and assistant living community in Rogue River, Oregon, via the desktop video conference download, Skype. Yifeng spoke about life in China and his ambition to be an engineer. Meanwhile, Qiyuan captivated his audience with his passion for basketball, even producing from his closet a Laker’s Kobe Bryant jersey. The Chinese students’ next task is to teach the residents some simple Chinese phrases.
