WHAT'S HAPPENING
AVL Welcomes Aaron Houghton who founded and sold iContact for $169 Million at age 30

Aaaron Houghton grew up in Sylva and has many ties to the Asheville community. In 2003, during his senior year at UNC Chapel Hill, Houghton co-founded iContact, an email marketing startup that he would build and later sell for $169 million in 2012 to Maryland-based firm Vocus. He’s now on to his newest startup, Bootsuite, an online advertising venture that already has 17,000 businesses on its platform.

For AVL entrepreneurs interested to hear how he did it, the journey it took to get there, the lessons gleaned along the way, and how he applies those lessons to growing Bootsuite, Aaron will be speaking this evening at Startup Grind and tomorrow morning as a special guest at 1 Million Cups of Coffee.

As we continue to grow our startup community, we’re thrilled to welcome Aaron back to Asheville and excited to hear from one of North Carolina’s greatest tech entrepreneurs.

We hope you’ll join us.
