Gourmet Felted
Custom Pet Portraits

Gerry's specialty is Custom Pet Portraits. She accepts commissions for a three dimensional Needle Felted Sculpture of your Pet. Gerry uses photos and samples of your pets fur to match color and texture of the fibers. You can see many examples of her commissions at her Etsy Shop.

She also creates wedding cake toppers, like the one you see above; and needle felting kits that she designs herself. Check them out in her Etsy Shop

Gerry also writes the Gourmet Felted's Weblog where she offers tips and tricks and answers questions about creating with this medium.  She loves to get e-mail questions at her weblog and enjoys "Helping People Find The Joy of Needle Felting".

This Month Needle Felting

In preparation for the newsletter this month; I reached out to Felt artists and crafters to learn more about the subject. I read some articles and reviewed websites and pinterest boards. Jerry and I started to see Felt being used in Art everywhere.   I shared photos and wrote about Felt Art I was finding in my community in my blog. I also had an inspirational conversation with Marie Spaulding. Marie wrote the tutorial for this newsletter and is the Founder of Living Felt. She has some inspirational messages about creating, teaching, and running a business. You'll also find our conversation at my blog site.

Terese Cato, a Needle Felting Artist, just released a new book.

"Needle Felting Masks and Finger Puppets" is available also as an e-book.  The book includes photos and step by step instructions for creating functional art that you can Display and Use. Make animal masks and finger puppets to stimulate imagination and story telling for all ages.
