Dear Fellow ICSB Members,

I hope your summers are enjoyable, relaxing, and rejuvenating as you all take a much needed break before returning to your professional commitments. That being said, be on the lookout for a wide and exciting array of top notch, you-can’t-miss events organized by ICSB and our Global Network of Affiliates.

A number of exciting Affiliate conferences will take place between August and January, among which some are the SEEANZ conference in Melbourne, Australia (August 10-12), the Asian Council conference in Jakarta, Indonesia (September 13-19), the ICSB Argentina conference in Tandil and Buenos Aires, Argentina (September 29-20), the ICSB Mexico conference in Hidalgo, Mexico (October 12-14), the RENT conference hosted by our European Affiliate ECSB in Antwerp, Belgium (November 16-18), the Egypt Entrepreneurship Summit in Cairo, Egypt (November 16-19), and the USASBE conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (January 19-22). This comprehensive and impressive list shows us once again the diversity and global reach of our community, a unique feature of ICSB. 

Among this dense and ample list of conferences and events, ICSB headquarters will conduct one of our signature conferences alongside the George Washington University and the World Bank, GW October. Our 7th annual GW October Global Entrepreneurship Conference will focus on the role of regional and local policies, and their subsequent effects on entrepreneurship and Small and Medium size Enterprise (SME) development. Taking place in Washington DC, one of the most important and influential cities in the world, this conference held from October 13th-14th is not one to be looked over!

Additionally, I am also excited to report that the Journal of Small Business Management’s (JBSM) impact factor, according to the last Thompson citation report, has bumped up to an amazing 1.937 and 2.84 (respectively 2 and 5 yrs. IF). This is the result of the tremendous effort that the International Office and JSBM Editor in Chief Dr. George Solomon have been dedicating to the growth of our signature journal. If you have not already, obtain a subscription to ICSB’s amazing journal series!

In other news, I am delighted to report that based on our statistical surveys and data analysis, ICSB 2016 NJ/NY and ICSB Academy NJ/NY were both incredibly successful. I would like to extend a personal thank you to all the participants and people who collaborated with one another in order to bring this international gather to fruition.

In conclusion, ICSB has been working tirelessly along with our affiliates throughout the summer in order to prepare exciting, comprehensive, and learned experiences for our members this upcoming year. Continue to be on the lookout for our imminent events and I look forward to meeting you all personally in the near future!
