RCR and the RPL present a Paw'p Up Cat Café

Regina Cat Rescue (RCR) and the Regina Public Library (RPL) have teamed up to bring you a cat lover’s extravaganza at the Central Branch this September.

On Thursday, Sept. 8 from 12 – 3 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 9 from 12 – 5 p.m. help transform the Dunlop Gallery into a feline-friendly habitat for cats and kittens to roam, sleep and play, because the cats are moving in! Using materials like cardboard, local artist, Joanne Bristol will help the public create a fun and dynamic space for some of RCR’s adoptable cats and kittens.

Then on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 from 12 – 5 p.m., come by and enjoy a coffee and a treat while you hang out with cats in our very own Paw’p Up Cat Café. This is your chance to experience the fun atmosphere of a cat café right here in Regina. All the cats in the café will be available for adoption through RCR, and volunteers will be on site to screen adoption applications and to answer your RCR-related questions.

Also on Sept. 10, Joanne Bristol will lead a writing workshop in the café from 1 – 3 p.m. The workshop will explore the beautiful and complicated relationship between humans and our furry friends. Registration for the writing workshop is required and you may register here. The café will remain open to the public during the workshop.

More details are available in the RPL’s program guide here (see page 30). Cat toys and treats generously provided by Metro Pet Market. Human treats generously provided by Kneaded Bake Shop and Danielle Gauthier-Kratz. There is no admission fee or costs to attend these events. Treats available while quantities last. All activities take place in the Dunlop Gallery at the RPL Central Branch at 2311 12th Avenue, Regina, SK.

August's Metro Cat

Thanks to Metro Pet Market for Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Heidi's spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet guardianship. Heidi is a sweet cat who was found stray wandering the streets. When no owners could be found, she was taken into foster care. Now she's spayed and ready for her forever home! Check out her adoption profile here and for more info about Metro Pet Market, please visit their website.

Meet Cassandra!

This month’s feature cat is Cassandra. She’s a beautiful kitten who’s every bit as sweet as she is gorgeous. She’s being fostered with dogs, cats and children and gets along with everyone. Check out her adoption profile here.

August Rider game volunteers

Come help us serve pizza and drinks to hungry Rider fans on Saturday, August 13! Shifts start at 3 and 3:30 p.m. at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. By helping out, you’ll be earning valuable funds for Regina Cat Rescue. So donate a few hours and know you’re helping some of the city’s most vulnerable furry citizens. More details available here. If you have questions or can help out, please email ellen.williams@usask.ca.

In memory of beloved pets. Did you know that RCR has a special section on its website to help memorialize beloved companions who have passed away? We can create a special page to help preserve the memory of your precious friends. More details here.
Photo of the Month! Jack is one tricky community cat who eluded RCR’s trappers for over a year and half. Thankfully, volunteers were able to successful trap Jack last week to help him get some much needed veterinary care. Feel better soon, Jack!
