Lunch and Learns
Come learn about the programs other agencies provide to our community. Also a great place to meet other community partners. These will be held at the offices of UWSN from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm unless otherwise indicated. Please email MarilynP@uwsn.org to reserve your seat.

09.22.16 Federal Competitive Grants
Miles Dickerson, The JA Barrett Corporation, will be our guest speaker. For decades Nevada has been among the lowest performing states in the U.S. in terms of receiving competitive federal grants. However, with leadership from Governor Sandoval’s administration and the Legislature the State has recently taken significant steps toward correcting this unnecessary and harmful imbalance. In the years to come, State leaders and government should alongside local governments, nonprofits, and community leaders to address challenges such as grant capacity and match funding. Nonprofit Legislative Forum
During our Nonprofit Legislative Forum, Assemblywoman Bustamante Adams and Assemblyman Derek Armstrong briefed us on the new Grants Council and the Federal Competitiveness Project. Below is the link to the Nevada Grants Department and the Council's meeting schedule. Valley Hospital Medical Center is looking to donate 25 - 30 children't desks to a non-profit, early education center or church.
