Video Testimony
Watch the video to hear Ahmed Al-Halabi, a nurse inside Aleppo, tell us the heartbreaking story that affected him the most in his work.  "The moment that affected me most was when we received a four year old after a bombing, she had multiple injuries in the abdomen, head and chest... her feet were completely crushed...she was crying "My feet hurt, please don't cut off my feet!" She was so afraid... But there was no other way, the little girl died in surgery from her other injuries." This is Syria today...
At Least 10 Hospitals Were Bombed and Put out of Service Throughout Syria in July

The biggest story in Syria today is the relentless targeting of hospitals and medical facilities.  In July alone at least 10 medical facilities, many at least partially supported by UOSSM, were bombed and put out of service.
Most of the medical facilities were targeted in the besieged Aleppo area, and Idlib. At least two medical staff were killed and many were wounded.
In the past 5 years, at least 650 medical workers have lost their lives and hospitals have faced hundreds of military and aerial attacks. In 2015, 250 attacks damaged or completely destroyed hospitals and health facilities. In  2016, more than 80 hospitals and medical points were targeted, and over 80 health and humanitarian workers were killed, according to the Syrian Network for Human Rights. The targeting of medical workers has provoked a situation in which we estimate  10,000 specialized doctors have fled the country, causing a massive breakdown in the health care system and 40% of the population without access to primary health care.
