SO WHAT'S NEW:

Origins of Wit & Humor Release Update:
We know you've been waiting patiently. Probably even frustratedly. We apologize for that and by this point you may have asked us "What's the hold up?" in person and we've had to say something along the lines of "We're experiencing technical difficulties." That sucks to hear and it sucks even more to have to keep saying it. With this newsletter we wanted to break down what exactly that means and why it's been a particularly trying and depressing few months. It'll probably be pretty boring so feel free to skip it but we felt like we owed it to all the fine folks that have supported us, so, here goes...

We were on a path to get our film uploaded to a website called Quiver that is handling the release of the film on iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, etc...basically anywhere you'd be able to see it and rent it. However, the thing that people pray won't happen happened....our project file got corrupted and our editor had to rebuild most of our edit (any FX we added, some sound FX cues, a few transitions and cut points). This is bad. This is a long process. But our editor dealt with the painstaking process.

SO, all good right? All we need to do is export it to the file specifications that Quiver wanted. Easy.
Nope, fate dealt us another bad hand. Anytime we would export a new copy and have to watch it for quality control, there were new errors. How? What? Looks like Adobe Premiere has some sort of stake in making us lose our minds. Basically there was no explanation we could find as to why the program would be dropping out FX or transitions upon export. Basically anytime we would watch it we'd fix new problems then upon the next export there would be a whole set of new problems that were created.

It was a cycle that Sisyphus wouldn't wish upon anyone.

WHERE WE'RE AT RIGHT NOW --
Trying to work through these issues with a new team and hoping to get the export cleaned up, checked for quality control, and sent to Quiver by the end of August. Quiver has a built in 3 month window they need to transcode and get it sent to the various Video on Demand (VOD) outlets. Which, much to our chagrin, puts our release in November barring any future problems.

Again, we can't apologize enough and know we've been trying, checking, retrying, and working on this for the last 4 months as we originally hoped to have it released this month. It's been a very frustrating few months as technology is kicking us while we're done. But please know we've never stopped trying to get this sucker working and out there to you.

AFTER we have our release date on VOD through Quiver we can begin planning the Chicago premiere, Midwest screenings, marketing, backer copies sent out, etc.

Please hold steady and thank you for your understanding.

Happier news - Music Video Release:
On the brighter side, the music video we wrote/directed for Chicago's own Into It. Over It. just launched and has been making the rounds online. You can check it out below and see some of the publications that have featured it. We're extremely proud of how it turned out and are looking forward to shooting another with Evan (Into It. Over It.) soon.
