Estimada familia SEK.

My EuroSEK experience
My EuroSEK experience was incredible, learning about European culture and having the chance to improve and practice my English in real life situations.
The second part of the trip was one week in the St John's Summer Camp, which was a beautiful experience, learning English, playing a variety a games and making new friends from all over the world.
From this trip I take home a fantastic experience with my classmates and moments I'll remember for the rest of my life.

Europe Trip
I had a great time with all my classmates on our trip. First we went to Madrid, where we stayed for 3 days. We then moved on to Paris luckily at a great time; when the Euro football finals were taking place, we also took in the sights such as the Louvre and Eiffel Tower. Finally we went to London to visit Big Ben, the London Eye and then to St John's for the Summer Camp where we shared with people from different cultures.

High School Leadership Camp
On the Friday, 15 July, the IGCSE 2 and IDBP 1 classes drove out to the Noordhoek Outdoor Centre after school for our annual leadership camp, hosted by Lead4Life. We arrived to a group of warm, friendly facilitators, eager to begin teaching us. With their guidance, over the next two days we took part in several team-building activities, like a general knowledge quiz and an obstacle course. Everything was designed to help us develop an understanding of what it means to lead. It was a really amazing experience because for each activity we did, different students shone through and were able to show their leadership qualities in their own unique way. In the end, everyone got to know each other just a bit better. We arrived back at the school on the 17th with a fresh new perspective of both our peers and ourselves.

Pre-Reception Discovering the 'Wild'
This week, in Pre-Reception we have been talking about wild animals. The students listened and had to identify a different animal sound during circle time. The students also looked at pictures of different animals during the class discussions.
Afterwards the students could choose how they wanted to make their favourite wild animal. The choices were drawing your favourite animal or modelling it out of playdough or getting messy at the art table by using your own handprint to make your favourite animal.
All of the students found wild animals very fascinating and they enjoyed expressing their own creativity and letting their imaginations run wild.
