Anti-doping resources from the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES)
As the body responsible for administering Canada's Anti-Doping Program (CADP), the CCES devotes a significant portion of its resources to promoting doping-free sport. The CADP protects athletes' right to fair and ethical competition, and helps ensure the integrity of amateur sport.
To read more about the role and views of the CCES on doping-free sport, please refer to the Anti-Doping page of their website: www.cces.ca/anti-doping.
For the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the CCES has put together helpful resources and reminders for coaches and athletes heading to Rio. Details include information on jurisdiction, exemptions, supplements, doping control procedures, and other doping related areas. You can view these resources here: www.cces.ca/2016-olympic-paralympic-games.
Liability Insurance for Coaches
When coaches work outside their regular coaching environment, liability insurance is necessary to protect them. The CAC provides this service to ChPCs and Registered Coaches at a discounted premium.
Liability insurance provides coverage for paid coaches, unpaid coaches, independent coaches, team leaders, mentors, and training instructors who may not be insured when working/volunteering with teams or sanctioned sport bodies. This policy also provides additional protection in the event a team or sanctioned body does not have adequate insurance.

Responsible Coaching Movement
The Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM) is a multi-phase system-wide movement, coordinated by the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. It has the potential to affect all sport organizations and coaches. The RCM is a call to action for organizations to implement realistic change based on their individual state of readiness.
The RCM is the result of extensive ongoing consultation with the Canadian Sport Community. These consultations will guide the different phases of the RCM that will address the role coaches play with issues relating to the health and safety of athletes, both on and off the field of play.
Phase 1 of the RCM was launched this June and we are seeing a strong uptake from organizations and coaches across Canada. We encourage you to refer your sport organization to the RCM page on coach.ca, where they can get more information and take the pledge in support of this important initiative in the Canadian sport system: www.coach.ca/ResponsibleCoaching.
