Scotland Bound!
Dear Friend,
The ministry of Scotland-bound NewCREEations has moved to a new level! We are so looking forward to being there. Meanwhile we are building connections right now to smooth the way for our successful transition from being employed in the US to being full-time ministers in the UK.
What's Happened Since the Last Update?
 We are grateful for your supportIn June, we participated in the annual meeting of Charis Bible College Directors at the main campus here in Woodland Park, Colorado. Directors from throughout the world representing over 70 Charis Bible College locations attended. It was a fabulous time of reconnecting, strengthening existing relationships, meeting other leaders, training, and learning. What a blessing to get needed tools that we can use!
In July we were honored to host the first UK Regional get-together (a proper July 4th BBQ) for the UK team. Attendees included the new head of Andrew Wommack Ministries England, as well as directors from Walsall, England; Dewsbury, England; and Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was the beginning of what we believe are many more fruitful gatherings to come. We all learned more about each other in a casual setting and strengthened our connection as a team. This will allow us to work together better to hear and fulfill God’s vision for the future of the UK. Words can't describe how special this time was for us.
Following the Directors meeting, we attended the Summer Family Bible Conference hosted by Andrew Wommack Ministries here in Colorado. A recurring theme emphasized how the whole world needs to hear about God's unconditional love and grace. What a refreshing time for all! Plus we reconnected with classmates that we hadn’t seen for a long time.
The people we met and the messages that we took in have continued to solidify the foundation in our hearts for our pending move to serve in Scotland.
What's Next?
Our hearts are ready to be in Scotland ministering! Getting there requires these three things:
- Funding. (More on that below... I know you can't wait!)
- Visas. Right now the UK office is preparing the paperwork to become a sponsoring agency. Once that process is complete, then when can apply for our visas.
- Additional Training. Once we have secured our visas we will go to the existing UK Charis Bible College locations to watch and learn from those Directors how to run a school.
What's It All About?
Our desire is to see the lives of the Scottish people transformed by the power of God’s Word. The path before us to accomplish this is as International Charis Bible College Directors. This means that we must raise our own missionary living expenses.
 Leaders of the United Kingdom locations for Charis Bible CollegeWhile we need to cover our personal expenses, our new Scotland Bible College location will get the benefit of lots of support in terms of curriculum, operational systems, media, marketing materials, technical support, and so forth. Also, you may not know that tuition is intentionally kept low at Charis Bible College to make the life changing courses accessible to as many people as possible. Because of this priority to see lives changed, tuition alone typically does not cover all of the operating expenses needed to run a school: office space and staffing salaries are two of the larger expenses required to keep things moving smoothly.
Fortunately, this is where NewCREEations comes in. On top of all the great resources made available for free directly on our website, our ministry partners are also sowing into the lives of the future students of Charis Bible College Dumfries Scotland by supporting us financially as missionaries.
What’s That Look Like for Lisa and Chris?
Our financial goals are $5,000 in monthly support and $25,000 for startup costs. We will leave the U.S. with only a few suitcases and that’s it. It’s not cost-effective to ship anything since the shipping would be more than buying things new or used in the UK. The British pound is still strong (even after the recent vote to leave the European Union) at about $1.35 U.S. to one British pound. Our startup costs include purchasing a vehicle, auto insurance, missionary healthcare coverage, furnishing a home, and securing 6 month's rent up front (as internationals, we have no credit in Scotland so most landlords will require this deposit).
This is a very ambitious plan but doable with the help of our generous supporters. The time is now for us to be a part of the Charis Bible colleges in the UK for training. Our new school in Scotland is slated to open in August 2017.
We are very excited to share that $2,580 of our monthly partnership need of $5,000 is committed to at this time, and we are so grateful. We still have a way to go and look forward to your support as you prayerfully consider helping us.
What's Your Role?
