Welcome Downtown!

Hello, August! July, I hardly knew you. This summer is just flying by, and Selah Downtown Association (SDA) continues to stay busy! We are looking forward to all the fun August is sure to bring!

The month of July saw the continuation of Selah's Wednesday Market and the return of Second Saturdays on July 9th. Runners showed up early on that Saturday morning to "Beat the Heat" at the 3rd Annual Yakima Run to Remember: Fallen Heroes 5K, organized by a local Gold Star family to benefit USO Northwest. SDA awarded prize baskets to the three winners of the Beat the Heat Kids Challenge, as well as the winner of the Tree Top Park Selfie Contest! Selah Sweets offered a sale on shaved ice, Pastime featured a special summer cocktail, and Nana Kate's hosted a hoppin' Beach Bash! Second Saturdays return on August 13th with a "Back to School" theme. We hope to see you downtown!

Looking ahead to next month, SDA is busy planning the 1st Annual Selah Downtown Association Red Carpet Gala, a 1920s-themed, black-tie fundraiser dinner with the theme "Puttin' on the Ritz." Tickets are selling out fast, so please contact us as soon as possible to secure your seat.

Lastly, and as always, I want to thank each one of you for your continuing support of this organization, and a special thank you to our business sponsors. We couldn't do what we do without you!

Sincerely,

Whitney Stohr
Executive Director
