Having taken over the reins of Nielsen’s Fly-In Lodge this year, we have been incredibly busy getting everything set for the fishing season as new lodge owners. We have been so excited about everything happening so far and getting settled into the lodge lifestyle has been an incredible experience.
We have so much appreciated all our guests since the start of the season. It’s been wonderful getting to know everyone and seeing them enjoy themselves fishing this awesome lake! We look forward to all our new guests arriving soon!

Fishing Reports
Early Season Fishing
The fishing was excellent. Early ice out lake trout fishing was fantastic. We had guests in shortly after our arrival into camp and the lake trout were on fire. Check out our Facebook page and watch guests catching lakers right off the dock in camp!
Muskie Opener
The muskie opener was a success as many of our guests caught and released some really nice fish as shown in the pictures below.
Current Conditions
Bass fishing been absolutely fantastic! Groups are catching 50-100 small mouth bass a day. Muskie fishing has been on and off. The guests who are out putting time in on the water are finding active fish. With the recent heat wave, water temps have warmed up from 68 to 75 in the past four days. The weed growth is a couple weeks behind what it should be for this time of year. With the end of July and August coming, some of the best muskie fishing of the season has yet to come. **NEW** We've extended our season that we'll be open to guests staying in camp into October, so chasing those big Rowan Lake muskies during the fall is now a reality. See details below.

Here are just a few examples of some dandy fish caught here at the start of muskie season. 52″ has been a good number for a few lucky fisherman and women so far this season...

- being a place that people will make a special trip to visit.
Rowan Lake has long been know for it's tremendous lake trout fishing and it's on every muskie fisherman's "bucket list" to fish Rowan Lake someday for it's world class muskies.
Rowan Lake is now becoming a destination for it's phenomenal large and small mouth bass fishery. We are booking more and more groups who travel to Rowan Lake to target bass only. Many of our clients who exclusively fish bass have 75 - 100 fish days on this lake. Fly fishing for bass here is just outright fun!

MORE THAN JUST MUSKIES...
ROWAN LAKE IS ALL ABOUT MULTI SPECIES!
|
|
Rowan Lake has the super six (lake trout, walleye, muskie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and northern pike) combination of fish to choose from. Unlike many other Canadian fishing lodges, many only offer one or two species to fish. Here on Rowan Lake you have lots of fishing options. You can spend a few hours in the morning catching lake trout or walleye for your shore lunch and spend your afternoon and evening targeting large and smallmouth bass or huge trophy muskies.
The amazing thing on Rowan Lake is your never sure what’s going to bite next. Lake trout fishermen often catch big muskies even when fishing with down riggers. Muskie fishermen catch numerous northern pike and bass casting or trolling their oversized baits.
Something BIG always happens on Rowan Lake!
