Welcome to the July edition of Zion Fire, a newsletter from Zion Ministries in New Zealand to simply share the great things God is doing in our midst.  This is not about “us”, this is for the glory of the Kingdom of God. May the fame of the name of Jesus and the power of His presence be known to all.  Zion Ministries is aligned with and commissioned by Chuck Pierce, Glory of Zion and Global Spheres, Corinth, Texas, USA.

Dear <<First Name>>

Welcome to July’s Zion Fire.  May you blessed and encouraged as you hear what the Lord is doing.  The impossible seems impossible until the possible turns up. Diamonds are formed by pressure, pearls are formed by irritation and gold is refined by fire.  May any pressure, irritation or fire you are going through not deter you from both waiting on Him and moving forward, as the Lord forms in you what is necessary, according to His heart. Although it may seem hard, the heart of the Lord is for you and He is producing in you exactly what He wants in your life.  May you see from a different perspective and wait on Him in a new way.

WORD FROM JERUSALEM
By Norma Sarvis, Trustee of Zion Ministries and a Leader at Succat Hallel, Jerusalem.
The Poetic Hebrew Language

I love the Hebrew language.  It is logical and poetic and filled with layers of meaning.  I felt to share a few examples that perhaps will give you some new thoughts:

Desert is “midbar”.    Speak is “mediber”.

The root of these two words is the same.  I often go to the desert (midbar) because it is a place where the Lord speaks.  ‘Desert’ and ‘wilderness’ are often the same word in Hebrew.  Yeshua in the ‘wilderness’ clearly heard the voice of the Lord.  When you are in your desert places, be assured the Lord WILL speak to you.

Presence is “pnim”.  Face is “pnim”.

The face of the Lord and the presence of the Lord are the same.  Moses said this to God:  If Your Presence (your face) does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. (Ex. 33:15)  We often sing about being in His presence.  When we do that, we are also saying we want to see His face.   When you are in the presence of the Lord, you WILL see His face.

Shalom:
Most everyone is aware of this Hebrew greeting.  However it is so much more than a greeting. It means: “hello, peace, and fullness or completeness”.  When we greet someone and say ‘shalom’ we are speaking a blessing of wholeness over them.

Yad:   Yad is the Hebrew word for ‘hand’ but it is also the word for ‘memorial’.  Isaiah 49:16 says this of Jerusalem:  “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me”.  This indicates that the Lord will not forget Jerusalem.  The name of the Holocaust Museum in Israel is ‘Yad V’Shem’.  The translation of this is:  “Memorial of the Name”.  The meaning is that the names of those who perished will not be forgotten.  When we lift up our hands in praise, we are lifting up a memorial to God.

Zion:   Zion is many things in the Bible.  It sometimes means Israel itself.  At other times Zion is Jerusalem, and Zion is also Mt. Zion.  In Biblical Hebrew it also means ‘signpost’.  How true it is that Israel is a signpost to the nations.  Your own Zion Ministries is a signpost ministry to the Body in New Zealand.

Blood is “Dam”.    Dirt is “Adama”
Man is “Ben Adam”.   Red: “ Adom”

All of these words have the same root.  Think about it. Blood is red, earth is red.  Man is both.  He is dust (adama) and his life is in the blood (dam). Adam was the first man, formed from clay, alive with blood, the first Ben Adam.

The Hebrew language is so rich with symbols, poetry, layers of meaning and much of this is lost in the English translations.  However as we choose to dig deep into His Word, the Lord speaks to us and uncovers His truth, imparting wisdom to our hearts.

NEW BEGINNINGS IN KAEO

The Lord opened the door for us to visit Kaeo and share with Pastor Helen Herbert and New Beginnings Church.  A call went out from Ezekiel 37 for graves to open and the power of death structures over people and situations to break.  Feedback is that “there has been an explosion of anointing all over the church”.  Praise God!  We heard a new sound coming out of Kaeo which will flow over New Zealand and out to the nations.  The sound of the land being awakened, healed and revived as His first nation people release their hearts to the Lord.

CHANGING OUR PERSPECTIVE GIVES US INSIGHT

Praise God for a group of men who have the city of Tauranga on their hearts and gather to pray from the “high places”, prophetically declaring the heart of the Lord and His promises.  The following is a report from our partner Warren Young, “Kingdom Men” in Tauranga.

“We recently gathered on a “high place” to worship and pray over the city of Tauranga.  It became evident as we prayed and looked at the city from a different perspective that the Lord was giving us much insight on how we should pray.  A special anointing fell on us as we worshipped, prayed and declared the heart of the Lord prophetically for our beautiful city.  We need His intervention and He needs our participation to see the city healed.

We then spent time hearing many testimonies of God challenging hearts to press through in this season of transition. Division must give way to Holy Spirit unity. Much has been attempted by 'might and power' of men which has fallen short but it will be "by HIS SPIRIT says the Lord." The responsibility lies with us His Church to walk in The Spirit.

There is an apostolic mantle that He is bringing into our city to lead His Church into what is fast becoming a process of letting go of the old ways that could be seen as "successful in the past" and embrace His direction as we transition into the new. That can sound like an oversimplification, however when we each take responsibility to walk with Him in total obedience, and with each other in transparency and accountability, we can be sure we will not miss the day of our visitation.”

FEEDING THE HOMELESS IN CHRISTCHURCH

On Sunday 17th of July, Breakfast Club was in Christchurch supporting Te Ahiwaru who was chosen to play in the Hurricanes Under 18 Team against the Crusaders. We were invited to help the 'Feeding of the Homeless' opposite the Cardboard Cathedral.

Every Sunday at 11.30am the owner of Original Foods along with 20 other volunteers set up tables with cooked food and desserts waiting to feed those who turn up. Original Foods makes donuts and cakes for the supermarkets in Christchurch and every Sunday supplies huge slices of cake for every person present at 'Feeding of the Homeless.'

On this day the weather was close to zero degrees and everyone was shaking and shivering in their boots, however, that did not stop the gratefulness and cheerfulness of everyone we were feeding. It was a pleasure to serve!

The following day back in Auckland, the Caretaker of Glen Innes School approached Breakfast Club to ask if it was possible to help supply him with food each week so he could start up a 'Soup Kitchen' in Glen Innes community. Our answer was, of course, YES.  Inspired by the 'Feeding of the Homeless' in Christchurch, this Soup kitchen is underway with the provision of  100 per cent of all that is needed. Breakfast Club's supporting organisations are supplying vegetables, meat and any other ingredients that are in short supply. It's great to see members of the community giving back and spending time helping those less fortunate. It definitely starts with us!

MIRACLES OF PROVISION
Breakfast Club turns 6!

Breakfast Club, our community outreach, turned six years old this month, on 8th July! We started in the Randwick Park School gym with five shy mouths to feed. Today our supporters, volunteers and children are one big family and in Randwick Park alone we have 70 kids coming in and out for breakfast everyday. Our faithful Nana Kay did not allow the day to quietly pass by and in celebration she baked a cake and decorated the room for all to enjoy. We just want to send out our warm and special THANKS to Nana Kay, our lovely children and all our amazing supporters and volunteers who have kept Breakfast Club going for six years! WINTER WONDERLAND

As the nights get cooler here in Auckland many of the children in our schools suffer from the flu and head colds due to lack of warm clothes and suitable pyjamas. Breakfast Club received donation of 51 brand new winter pyjamas this month, which couldn't have come at a better time! We had enough to give to 50% of the junior syndicate at Glen Innes School!
A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF BREAKFAST CLUB

Part of God's purpose for us all is to be an open channel for His blessing. He releases hidden sources of supply to meet the needs around us. Breakfast Club, at the beginning of July, experienced God's abundant provision as He opened supply lines for provision and blessing. We received 49 packets of cereal, 30kg of Honey Puffs, 30 quiches, 20 packets of bacon, 50 pies and 160 pairs of shoes. On top of that Breakfast Club was donated a van full of vegetables. Our God is an awesome God!
