To place the terms 'normality' and 'Blatch household' in the same sentence would be an oxymoron. However, Wife and both children are now home and accounted for.

John Deere will have left Parkes by the end of this year for the (yellow and) greener pastures of Forbes.

Did you know that John Deere genuine bearings are NTN bearings- one of the World's finest bearing brands? A.A.Blatch is the exclusive NTN distributor in the Parkes/ Forbes/ Condo/ Cowra/ Grenfell areas. The only thing is, at John Deere the NTN bearing comes in a green and yellow coloured box. We have thousands of NTN/ John Deere bearings but perhaps sadly, ours are in the original blue NTN box. The upside is, our blue coloured cardboard box costs a whole lot less than the green and yellow coloured cardboard box. I'll leave you with that to ponder.
Every John Deere filter is made by Fleetguard. That's handy because A.A.Blatch is an authorised Fleetguard distributor and we can swap the JD part numbers into the original Fleetguard numbers.
I could go on and on but suffice to say, there's many reasons to travel far and wide for very particular, genuine spares but for many service parts, you can buy the exact OEM product through Blatch's. And if we don't have it, our freight arrives rapidly, from all over Australia. Here's a little list of your OEM products that we stock.

Here's a tip: if someone promises you "genuine" or "Drives USA" chain, ask to see the side-plate of the chain. If it's OEM grade, it will have Drives USA clearly stamped. If the plates are blank, you can guarantee someone is trying to sell you very cheap knock-off chain.

The Parkes Show is on again and, after the success of last year's inaugural 'Farmer's Day', the event is back for 2016, bigger and better. There'll be an emphasis on drones in agriculture which I'm assuming relates to close-monitoring of paddock conditions, and not, the remote bombing of rival farms.

So last month's rural round up featuring Burrawang was a bit of a hit. I must admit I was crestfallen at the lack of offers to buy it for me. Here's another one you might like, this time in Dunnedoo. 'Birriwa' was built by William Lawson; as in Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson. It's now for sale with a price tag of 'expressions of interest' which is a euphemism for 'More than you can afford, Allan'.

World Record Shearer

NZ born but UK based Matt Smith has just broken a long standing world record to shear 731 crossbreed ewes in 9 hours. At the event in England recently, Matt sheared one every 44 seconds including dragging, changing gear etc. This equates to him having dragged 43.8T for the day. This was a photo taken just after he finished. You've got to take your woollen hat off to that.
