Join AFCEA Hawaii on Tuesday Aug 9th for our monthly luncheon and hear from our special Young AFCEAN guest speaker Jason Sewell, Co-Founder of DevLeague.  DevLeague is Hawaii’s only software development bootcamp, has been selected as one of the top 31 bootcamps of 2015 by SwitchUp, an international coding bootcamp directory. In 2015, DevLeague was named Business Leadership Hawaii 2015 Innovative Company of the Year.

     Jason has been a web developer for just shy of a decade, starting with building freelance e-commerce projects while still in college to developing heavily trafficked global enterprise level systems and interfaces.  


     Jason previously served as Senior Programmer/Analyst at Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, and has since founded award-winning Hawaii based software development shop Sudokrew specializing in leading edge web application development. Luncheons Open to the Public

AFCEA Hawaii luncheons are accessible to the public. You do not need a vehicle sticker or badge to get onto Fort Shafter. To get on base simply provide your drivers license, current vehicle registration and insurance card at the main gate to be issued a day pass.

Parking Options:

Parking often fills up rapidly after 1100 so an early arrival before 1100 works best. Several handicap spots are available under the entry Portico.

1. “Parking 1” above. Preferred: In front of Hale Ikena.

2. “ Parking 2” above: Adjacent to the golf course.

3. “Parking 3” above: In the gulch at the base of the entry road.

 

Please be mindful that AFCEA Hawaii  is under contract with the Club and will have to pay for no-shows.
REFUND POLICY: luncheon registration refunds will be paid to the payee only if the luncheon registration(s) is/are cancelled prior to the 4:00pm registration deadline on the Friday immediately prior the scheduled luncheon.  Cancellation notices must be received as an email by either the Vice President of Programs (programs.vp@afcea-hawaii.org) or the Treasurer (treasurer@afcea-hawaii.org) prior to the aforementioned 4:00pm registration deadline.

Cyber Po'oihe
3-4 Aug - Cyber Po'oihe 2016. This year's event is a Capture the Flag (CTF) hacking-style competition with 5-member teams grouped together by experience levels. Whether your a novice or an expert, this will be a chance to learn and improve your skills.

27 Aug @ 9AM-12PM - The Hawaii Cyber Patriot Program is hosting an Award Presentation and Mentor Orientation event at Leilehua Highschool. The program pairs mentors with highshool students to teach them cyber security fundamentals and skills. Each year there is a national competition to test the team's defensive abilities
