We're Back!!

We are very pleased to release our July 2016 newsletter after a long break! It's been a very busy and interesting recent few months - as usual filled with rescues, stories, hard work and adoptions. Such is the world of animal rescue. In this newsletter we will share our latest news, stories, information and articles with you.

New Arrivals

We now have 6 beautiful puppies all seeking homes! Four have already been adopted.

We also have a lovely little stray who was just rescued. Meet Pauline. She was found scavenging in Polilie squatter camp. No one knew where she came from. She just kind of arrived during the day and disappeared during the night. The locals asked us to take her and give her a better life... She has mange, that she is now being treated for and will soon be healed of, but otherwise a real character and full of life.

This lovely new cat has also been recently rescued. Given away by his original owner to their worker, unwanted, he was rescued by us when the worker also did not want the cat. He had spent a traumatic day all alone inside a cardboard box before we found him! He is a beautiful cat and deserves a loving home.

Charity Bookfair / Jul 28 - Jul 31

The fair will be at Somerset Mall and will help raise funds for Township Animal Rescue - so please have a browse!

Uplifting News

A handsome mix breed dog called Sherlock, pictured, was rescued from a high-kill shelter just hours before he was to be put down. He was housed in a high-kill shelter in America and was less than 24 hours away from being euthanized!

After escaping a terrible fate, Sherlock is now in training to become a service dog for a young autistic boy in New England, America. He may appear big and almost wolf-like, but with his high intelligence, friendliness and calm personality, Sherlock is the ideal dog for his new role and new life.

Sherlock will be taught certain commands and protective behaviors to help keep his new eight year old companion safe when he has anxiety attacks or other issues.

Sherlock was given a second chance at life - and now he is able to give this boy a new life too. Like all dogs, rescue dogs have the ability to do amazing things if given the opportunity. Every rescued animal deserves a chance at life.
