Botanicollage

Shades of green, salvaged, re-composed

About this time last year I was working on a series of nine collages with a botanical bent... and I'm really excited that they will finally be on view beginning this weekend at the Loveland Museum Gallery as part of Xylem, a show of contemporary botanical artworks. If you're in the area, please join me this Friday, January 9th, for the opening from 5-9pm (and as a bonus explore Loveland's 2nd Friday Art Walk). The exhibition runs through March 15th.

Bits and pieces…

The Museum of Modern Art is experimenting with showing its exhibitions in movie theaters. First subject: the Matisse "Cut-Outs" exhibition that I found so enchanting on a recent trip to NYC. The format is a 90-minute high-def film which includes installation and exhibition views and interviews, showing across the US on Tuesday, January 13th. For more information and to see where the film will air in your area, click here. (Above: Henri Matisse's "Polinesia, The Sky," 1947.)

I'm amazed at all the places my art been exhibited recently -- and so excited by, and grateful for, the opportunities I've had of late.

Thanks to all of you who have encouraged me and supported my art career. I'm working in the studio (while enjoying the very dynamic Colorado weather outside my window)... and, as you might imagine, I have lots of possibilities to begin to piece together!

Happy New Year -- here's to a wonderful 2015!
Janice
