"What are the contribution limits for retirement plans in 2015?" -Anonymous
What a great and timely question as we are preparing for the new year! In 2015, you can contribute a maximum of $5,500 to an IRA, plus an extra $1,000 if you are 50 or older. This limit can be split between a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA if you would like, but the combined limit is still $5,500 or $6,500, respectively. And of course, making deductible contributions also reduces your taxable income for the year.
To maximize your 401(k), 403(b), 457, and TSP contributions, you may invest $18,000 or $24,000 if you will be age 50 or older in 2015.
We hope this helps as you plan your contributions for the year!
