The Sweet Tomato Heel offered at 11:00 am

The sweet tomato heel is a SHORT ROW HEEL worked in two or three segments or wedges. No gusset, no holes, no wraps to pick up.  Just a nice series of wedges and a lovely rounded heel that fits. It can be worked on any number of stitches, even or odd, and your choice of needles. It can be worked on either top down or toe up socks!

For the class you will need to have your sock at the point where you are ready to start the heel. You may want to make a small child’s sock to learn on.  You might also watch a You Tube video ahead of time to get familiar with this technique.

Introduction to Entrelac offered at 1:00

The word entrelac come from the french word entrelacer which means to interlace. It is a knitting technique that produces an interlocking diamond pattern using short rows, casts ons and knitting stitches together. The entire process will be demonstrated.

To give this a try, materials needed are short or circular needles size about 7, 8, or 9.  Yarn in 2 contrasting colors, either worsted or DK weight, and stitch markers. Some knitting experience is necessary.
The Bee Stitch. So Sweet!  offered at 3:00 pm

Bee stitch is simple knitting and purling, but with the added complexity of knitting into the row below, the stitch creates a full-bodied texture.  When combined with contrasting color stripes, this stitch creates a beautiful, vintage looking design reminiscent of houndstooth.  We'll make a swatch that can be turned into a fashionable and comfortable bangle bracelet with a recycled base!  To create a seamless bangle, bring circulars for magic loop method or double-pointed needles if you prefer. You might prefer working flat, so the bangle can be seamed, left as a swatch, or used as the start of a dishcloth or scarf. Bring two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn, size 5 or 6 needles, and a darning needle if working flat. For the bracelet, bring a large yogurt or similar plastic container and scissors to cut the base.
Visit the Merchant Area which occupies the entire lower level.
We are excited to welcome these merchants to our show and are especially grateful for the generous donations each of them and other area stores have made to our fundraising raffles. Winners of our AMAZING gift baskets full of fiber related goodies will be announced all day!  These baskets must be seen to be believed!  Winners must be present to win!  Another reason to plan to spend the day!
Mark your calendar, invite a friend, bring your current projects, and
spend the day knitting, laughing, learning, and relaxing with friends!
