From launch dinner to
first charity tournament –
2014 in review.

On July 3rd, many poker players came together for the official REG launch dinner in Vegas. The topic of the evening was effective charity: Which rational arguments speak in favor of giving unusually high amounts to unusually cost-effective charities? REG co-founder Adriano Mannino gave a thought-provoking presentation on these questions.

On October 18th, Sorel Mizzi won the WPT London $5k Turbo Event – the first time a REG ambassador has won a major tournament.

By this time of the year, REG had grown significantly: More than 60 poker players already made the pledge to maximize their positive impact on the world.

On November 12th, Martin Jacobson and Jorryt van Hoof represented REG at what is the biggest poker event of the year: The WSOP Main Event Final Table. With Martin Jacobson fighting back from short stack to overcome the rest of the November Nine, the poker world champion of 2014 is a REG member!

On December 18th, the first REG charity tournament took place at Aria Resort. Dan "Jungleman" Cates won what certainly wasn't the last REG charity tournament. Be prepared for more in 2015!

Some of the further highlights from 2014 included:

the publication of our first report on money moved
a series of blogposts surrounding the "Colman Controversy", and finally,
welcoming the 100th REG member by just the end of the year.

That was REG's 2014. For 2015, among other things, we plan to organise more charity tournaments, produce and distribute REG apparel, update our website in various ways and most importantly: spread the word further and get more members. Can we get to 400 by the end of next year?
