January in Religious Education

Eternals

It's a new month with a new theme and new teachers!
We welcome our new teams. Check to see if your child's group has changed:
Our Ambassador group will be led by Janice Zimmerman and Mike Franch will assist. This group will be Abby, Alex, Beth, Charley, Eden, Fionna T., Jasmina, Malaika, Perry, Rachael, Tyson, Violet, and Zoe.
Our Purple group will be led by Jim Bunzli, who will be assisted by Tina Kochel and Kate Englebrecht. Kids in this group will include: Anastacia, Beckett, Ben, Celia, Chandler, Fiona J., Julianna, Kiera, Nicholas, Stuart, Theodore, and Mason.

• Our Home Groups will be exploring a difficult but interesting theme this month: Eternals. We'll be writing letters to our future selves and making perpetual calendars.
• Preschoolers and Kindergarteners in Sprouts will begin their regular classes again with Laurissa Hurst.
• Due to low attendance in the nursery, the fabulous Kate Englebrecht will be moving to assist the Home Groups so we can better take advantage of her skills. In the meantime, our nursery will be staffed by volunteers when available. Please let Becky know if you can lend a hand!

We are still in need of a volunteer for the nursery and a volunteer to assist in Sprouts. Please email Becky if you can help.

RECCY Seeks YOU!

Our Religious Education Committee for Children and Youth meets monthly to oversee programs for all our kids and select awesome adults. It's fun and rewarding work, and never too taxing when many hands are involved! We are seeking new members who have an interest in our congregation offering quality religious education and opportunities to build relationships for all our kids. To find out more, contact our RE Chair: Melinda Walker or watch the church calendar and join our next meeting.

Becky's Final Weeks

January 11 will be Becky's last Sunday. Please join us for a party after church on Sunday to celebrate (with cake!). If you have any questions about the program, RE in general, or anything else, Becky will be reachable at her redirector@firstunitarian.net address until Jan. 15, her last official day of work. Melinda Walker, chair of the RE Committee for Children and Youth can b reached at rechair@firstunitarian.net.

"Mindfulness for All Ages"

Each Sunday morning from 10:30 to 10:50 in the Youth Room, second floor, Rev. Dale Lantz and others will lead a time of gentle movement and silent meditation. Parents, children, and youth are welcome. Need a brief orientation to meditation? Come at 10:15. For more information, contact Rev. Lantz at delawarefocusing@yahoo.com or 443-223-4861.
