A New Year and Some New Projects. Will you write with me?

Happy New Year! I hope that the first week of 2015 finds you creatively fulfilled, nourished, and rested.

After a very busy 2014 that included the release of a new book and a nine-city author tour, I'm looking ahead to new projects and mixing things up in 2015!

My next year plans involve giving my website a fresh new look, trying my hand at teaching an online course (see below for details) and of course, more writing and making.

In the interest of keeping momentum (if you noticed that you didn't hear from me over the last two months this is my solution), I'm going to try and turn my newsletter into a bi-weekly affair, which means that I'll be in your inbox more often*!

Things That Are Inspiring Me Right Now:

A yarn-bombed double-decker bus in London by 7up. WOW!

UNSTUCK - just plain, simple, relatable advice without a bunch of woo-woo

Kim Werker's #YearofMaking. I just bought her ebook today, and there's still time to join in!

Crochet for Bicycles (I guess I'm dreaming of spring!)

Brainpicking's articles on creativity can lose me for days.

I cannot stop reading Narrative.ly, particularly this article on shoe-shine men of New York City.

The work of the late Judith Scott (which I got a sneak peak off when I visited the Brooklyn Museum last October - stunning)

I'm a bit late to the game on this, but I just discovered Roman Mars' design podcast 99% Invisible and I'm hooked.
Announcing my first e-course! Launching February 1, I’ll be sending out a weekly prompt via STITCHED STORIES to inspire stories for textiles, or textile stories.

The course will run for 12 weeks, and as this is a brand new experience for me, I'm offering it completely free as I learn from the process.

Let’s write together, it will be fun. I’m limiting this run to 50 people, so sign up early
Recent Press: At the end of October, Fibre Arts Now invited me to be a guest of their fabulous video series FANFARE. You can watched my archived conversation with Kami Smith online: http://youtu.be/0mhNFzIyMfE
Our Social Fabric Fundraiser A Vancouver Non-Profit that I strongly believe in is holding a fashion show based on repurposed and recycled clothing on January 25th in North Vancouver. Learn more here.

*In the interest of changing things up in 2015, I'm changing my schedule so that you'll have a message from me in your inbox every two weeks.

As this was originally a once-a-month newsletter, if you unsubscribe, I won't be offended! But of course, I do hope you'll stay!
