Project Runway has nothing on Post Troop 6416!

These girls know how to “Make it work” – Creativity abounded as the girls learned the value of recycling and reusing to create their own clothing. Learning to save energy? Check!  Learning to save money?  Check!  Learning how to find your gifts and share them with the world?  Check! And demonstrating confidence by modeling in a fashion show?  Check!

Resources for Troop Leaders

1. Financial Transparency Have copies of your troop bank statements available at meetings for review by girls and parents. Juniors and above can be involved with keeping track of and reporting on troop finances. Check out the Troop Money Record

2. On Time Patches will be available at January Service Unit meetings!

3. The "How" of Girl Scouts Leaders, don't forget to help your girls learn leadership skills by using these three steps (more):
Discover - girls learn something new
Connect - girls connect what they've learned to their life, their family, their community
Take Action - girls see a problem, find a solution and create a plan to bring the solution to life

4. We will host another “Frozen” winter wonderland at the Lubbock office the afternoon of January 25th.  Current Girl Scout members can bring a friend and if their friend registers, they will earn an ‘Add A Friend’ patch! Create even more girl leaders by expanding your troop.  And your girls earn a free patch at the same time. Use the Invite a Friend postcard as a recruiting resource!  Contact the Girl Scout office to get your Invite a Friend postcards.

4.As a volunteer, you donate an amazing amount of time and effort to your troop. Remember, you don’t have to go it alone. The families of the Girl Scouts in your troop can serve as your support network. Here are a few tips.

5.Remember to practice the Girl Scout Law during the cookie season.  Girl Scouts, and adults helping with the cookie sale, should be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, responsible for what they say and do, respect themselves and others and be a friend to every Girl Scout.
