It's a New Year!

We've got some resolutions to share

1. Complete our best ever World Spay Day campaign… we're aiming to connect with every vet clinic in Ontario and invite them to participate in spay day initiatives on the 24th of February. Read more here!

2. Transition to a new and improved website by Spring. Want to help? Web developers can inquire at webmaster@secondhopecircle.org about volunteering!

3. Have a fundraising calendar contest in May. (We'll need your cute photos to fill the Calendar!)

4. Grow our 2 travelling programs to increase their impact, the Travelling Library and Travelling Closet.

5. Assist in finding 25 foster and adoptive homes for hard to place pets in Ontario this year!

6. Release printable colouring sheets for kids on our website and aim to complete an entire educational colouring book by November 2015.

We Need Volunteers!

This year is going to be our busiest and best yet and we're going to need help to make it happen! Did you know that if you could commit even 1 hour per week, it will make a huge impact! Email volunteerCO@secondhopecircle.org for information about how to volunteer!

Current volunteer jobs available:

Web Development Volunteer - Help out with the creation of our new website. Hone your skills and get great experience working on a volunteer team! Email webmaster@secondhopecircle.org

Colouring Book Volunteer - We need people who can draw or write and people who work with kids for this one! We want to first release several colouring book pages and then by November release an entire colouring book focused on promoting special needs pets!

Organization Liaison - Are you patient, independent and have good email skills? Help our member organizations keep up to date on posting their special needs pets to our website for less than 1 hour per week. You'll be assigned to one organization and work with them to keep their information and photos current. A super important job that will help get even more pets adopted! Minimum 6 month commitment preferred.

Pets of the Month Volunteer - Once a month connect and work with the randomly selected member organizations to feature chosen 'pets of the month'. You'll need to be comfortable emailing and (rarely) talking on the phone with 4 organizations to get information and photos from them to fill out the provided template. Pets of the month and organization of the month profiles are posted the 1st of every month so you'll need to work within a deadline. 3-5 hour time commitment per month. Highlighting pets increases their adoption chances!

Educational Program Volunteer - Assist with one of our educational programs through management, advertising, fundraising or content creation! It's a great way to get experience running a campaign, working with or managing other volunteers and creating an impact report. Not to mention helping to provide humane education experiences for the public! Ongoing campaigns include Kijiji Out Reach, The Travelling Library, Safe Sun Campaign and our educational fact sheets.

Photography Volunteer - We need photographers who can take great photos of pets to help us with our Travelling Closet program. We'll match you to an organization in your area that needs help getting photos of their adoptable pets. To help you out you'll be provided with super cute costumes and props! Requirements include your own transportation and camera equipment, patience working with animals and teaching the organization some tips and tricks. Cute and beautiful photos help pets find homes!
