Hello,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Are you back in the swing of things yet?
I find it funny how January and August/September have so much in common for so many people.
Think about it, whether you are beginning the academic year, a new fiscal year or simply wiping the slate as clean as you can as we embark on a brand new year, January is another chance to put your best foot forward with healthy goals and behaviors.
It is exciting and full of promise!
Toward the end of 2014, I was introduced to a book by a psychologist named Carol Dweck. She is on faculty at Columbia University in New York City and her book is called “Mindset”. I was so taken by the title that I bought one for everyone at Rice Psychology Group and at Kids and Canines where I am on the board.
This week’s blog talks about Mindset and how we can all benefit from shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset. I am not on her payroll but it is my pleasure to encourage you to check out this book. I listened to the audiobook version but have also read a great deal of it the traditional way. Either way, it’s a game changer.
I’d love to hear from you about ways that you are shifting your mindset in 2015!
Warmly,
