The Intriguante—Women of Intrigue in Film Noir

Inspired by the exhibition Light & Noir: Exiles and Émigrés in Hollywood, 1933–1950, this film series features four émigré-directed noirs centered around seductive, intriguing women.  

Yarn Bombing at the Skirball

For the site-specific installation Forest, For the Trees, guerilla knitting artists Yarn Bombing Los Angeles and the Arroyo Arts Collective transform the Family Art Studio into a colorful yarn forest. Opens Jan. 15.

On Jan. 11, join experts at an in-gallery salon for a conversation about some of the remarkable film directors covered in Light & Noir. And listen as literary writers David Shields and Caleb Powell fiercely debate life and art (Jan. 15), or take a fascinating journey through the past with Sarah Wildman as she talks about her new book, Paper Love (Jan. 22).
