Sunday, January 4th, 2015
Hillcrest:

9:30 & 11:30
Childcare is provided for children from birth through age 3.

9:30am

2 and 3 y/o: Celebrating Me and My World: This class helps children learn to celebrate the world around them while building friendships and self confidence. Children in this class may be brought directly to their classroom.

preK-1st grade: Wonderful Welcome: Our lesson is the Gift of Learning Together. This week we will hear a story about a rooster who learns about himself through the help of his friends.

2-6th grade: New Year’s Party: children are invited to join us for a special building party where we will hear a story and create decorations for a new Children’s Chapel space.

11:30:

K-6th grade: Children’s Chapel Building Party: All children are invited to join us for a special building party where we will hear a story and create decorations for a new Children’s Chapel space.

A ReminderUnless otherwise noted, children four years old and up begin their Sunday morning in the Worship Service with their family. We consider the time we spend together in worship before classes begin as an integral part of our Sunday morning experience. Children three and younger may be left in childcare before you enter the Meeting House and need to be picked up immediately after the service.

South Bay Campus:
Sunday, November 16th

Children who attend worship will be invited to join us for Religious Education after the Story for All Ages in worship. The story for this week is a “A Drop of Honey.” This week Intern Minister Adam Dyer will preach his sermon called “Just Us (Justice)."

Help us practice!

In Winter of 2015 we will begin including the Children's Affirmation in Spanish in the Hillcrest service.

Please help us get ready by practicing the affirmation at home!

K-1 Our Whole Lives Begins January 25th

This program supports parent/guardians in educating children about birth, babies, bodies and families in age-appropriate way. Following the Parent Meeting (Jan. 25th at 1:30pm) and Parent/Child Orientation, children participate in an 8 session curriculum that uses stories, songs and activities and include a weekly HomeLink - a homework project for parent/guardians and children to do together. Sessions are held Sunday afternoons from 1:30-2:30pm. For information about the curriculum, click here

If you are interested in participating, e-mail Melissa James, Director of Children and Family Ministries. We ask families for a $25 donation to help cover the cost of program materials (scholarships are available).

Outdoor Explorations

Join us Sunday, January 18th for family nature adventures
Gather with other families from First Church for a kid-friendly outdoor adventure as we hike Mission Trails. This is a chance to spend time outdoors together. Pack a snack, water bottle and sense of adventure. Carpool leaves from the Hillcrest campus at 1:30pm; meet at the Mission Trails Visitor Center at 2pm. Contact Jennifer Hughes at jenhughes@cox.net to RSVP or for more information
