Selkirk Mental Health Centre is a 252-bed facility that provides long-term mental health in-patient treatment and rehabilitation services to residents of Manitoba whose challenging needs cannot be met elsewhere in the provincial health care system. Programs include Acquired Brain Injury, Acute, Rehabilitation, Geriatric and Forensics. For more information see www.gov.mb.ca/health/smhc.
Qualifications:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- A satisfactory Adult Abuse Registry Check
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Psychological Association of Manitoba
Essential Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (qualified Doctoral candidates or candidates with other combinations of academic preparation and experience may be considered)
- Experience in Forensic Psychology and/or Clinical Psychology with Forensic Training
- Experience applying and interpreting a wide range of psychological/psychometric tests
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical assessment and decision-making skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge and awareness of working with Aboriginal and Inuit Culture
- Experience working with individuals with severe and chronic mental health difficulties
Duties:
Working as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent conducts assessments (including diagnostic, cognitive and personality), individual treatment planning, consultation, psychotherapy and other interventions. Group treatment, program development, evaluation, related teaching and research work may also be performed.
