Let’s Dance!
Cold winter nights? Warm up at SunRidge's first annual mid-winter community dance! Friday, February 6th 6:00-8:30 pm in the multipurpose room. Easy to learn dances led by a professional caller and accompanied by musicians. Refreshments provided by your friendly Parent Council.  Fun for all ages!  More info to come.
Thank You Pledgers!
Because public funding is not enough to provide the educational program parents want for their children at SunRidge, the school depends on revenue from monthly parent pledge donations for about 12% of its total budget. Our Foundation offers encouragement for each class to join the pledge campaign by offering an incentive of $250 to every class’s field trip fund that has 100% pledge participation (at any amount), and another $250 to every class that meets it fair share goal for the year.  To date, no class has yet met the 100% participation mark, but 5 classes are above 80%: Morning Star Kindergarten, Dragonfly Kindergarten,  2nd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. Other classes are not far behind. Those classes with the higher participation rate are also the ones that are on track for meeting their annual fair share goal, with their percent of class goal achieved to date now at or above the percentage of the year that has elapsed. No class is so far behind that they could not achieve their goal, win their field trip fund incentives, and help keep our educational program strong.  On behalf of every child and teacher at SunRidge, thank you parents for your generous contributions!
Whole Food Cards-Need a Call?
SunRidge can earn needed funding every time one of us shops at Whole Foods Market with a Whole Foods scrip card.  If you shop at Whole Foods, want to participate, but find it hard to remember to purchase your scrip cards every month, simply call the office and tell us how much you would like each month, and tell us when to call to remind you that your Whole Foods Scrip cards are ready for you to pick up.  Very easy, and SunRidge earns $$$ when you do your normal shopping.  Thank you!

Copperfield’s Books Gift Certificates
SunRidge can also earn a percentage of every dollar spent at Copperfields Books, if you use Copperfields gift certificates purchased at SunRidgeThey come in handy $10.00 amounts, so they make great gifts. Available in the school office.
Sign Painter Needed
We very much need a parent volunteer to help with some needed signs on both campuses. Anyone out there have those skills that could help out to whatever degree is possible?
Read-in Pajama Day, Thursday, February 5
Pajamas are in order school-wide for Thursday, February 5, so our dress code is slightly adjusted for that day. Please make sure your child’s sleep wear still generally abides by the parameters of what is appropriate for a school setting in the areas of appropriate images, decency in coverage, etc. For space reasons, we ask that any “stuffies” that your child would like to bring be kept on the smallish size, and that they are not media image figures. Please consult with your child’s teacher for any specifics for his or her class on this day. Also, if your child wears slippers, be sure s/he also brings shoes for recess play.
Check the Lost and Found
Please check the lost and found racks located in the central hall of the back building. They are overflowing and some items may be yours.
This is a joint lost and found between SunRidge and REACH, Please only take what is yours. At the end of this month, the first batch will be donated to charity. Any item that has been there for 30 days or more will go. The newly lost items will stay on the racks for the new go around.
Make-Up Day for Missed Pizza Lunch on Dec. 12
There will be one day of credit if you ordered pizza and/or salad for your child on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014. The make-up day is January 23, 2015. Please mark the new order form with the word "credit" on January 23 and fill in the exact order you made for Friday, Dec. 12. Thanks from Jane Schultz and Pamela Gould.
Rummage Sale
The 7th Grade is holding a Rummage Sale in April to raise funds for their 8th Grade field trip.  If you have anything you would like to donate that is in reasonable to good condition, please drop off in the 7th grade class room before or after school with a note stating "rummage" or call Rosalie at 823-3065 or email rosalie.simmons@gmail.com if you want items picked up from your house or office.
