Zen Changes - or How to Experience Whiplash Online!
What a year 2014 was! Here's a recap:
- Hosting companies have upgraded their PHP versions to 5.4, necessitating upgrades.
- Payment methods changed requiring new files for paypal, authorize.net and linkpoint
- USPS changed it's API twice last year and there could be additional changes this month.
- Zen Cart version 1.5.4 was finally released.
What's next for you?
The only real option is upgrade your cart, not later but now! Upgrading can be simple or hard but if you are on any version prior to 1.5.3, you have to upgrade. If you don't and your hosting upgrades their PHP level, your site may go down and/or not work properly. It can be subtle on versions 1.5x but it is real! (My server is upgrading by the end of Feb, take note!)
Upgrading is generally a professional task - I never suggest a client attempt the do-it-yourself method. For customers whose carts I have setup or upgraded in the past, I offer great rates on this upgrade. If I have worked on your cart before, you still will get reduced pricing.
