Outlook 2015: Health IT

Health IT developers and users in 2015 will need to crack the code on APIs, FHIR, DS4P, 42 CFR Part 2, ICD-10 and Stage 2 MU—shorthand for the key technology challenges looming in the year ahead.

Application programming interfaces are likely to be hot in 2015 as federal policymakers and some mainline EHR developers have embraced the API approach. Mentor Matching

Considered becoming a mentor, but weren't sure what to expect? Check out the AHIMA video "Mentor Match: A First-Hand Account" to learn more about a real-life mentoring relationship that started through AHIMA's Mentor program.

You'll hear from AHIMA mentor, Melissa Martin, RHIA, CCS, CHTS-IM, and her mentee, Tonette Friskics about how they connected, and their experiences so far.  You have much to offer those entering the field.  With more students considering a career in HIM, it helps to have a mentor with experience and lessons to share.  This is a great opportunity to help others as they work through school, look for a job, or change careers.
