Fratello's
Greetings!

Well, look on the bright side, pun intended. I mean, at least it is sunny out, non? Which for anyone who has spent any time up here knows is not always the case in winter. Still a bit brisk, though, but they say warmer temps are on their way. Like this very weekend, meaning it just might be a good time to head out for some good food & wine. And, surprise, I am going to suggest that you consider joining us, when we will be featuring Chilean Sea Bass, Jumbo Sea Scallops and Ohio raised Prestige Pork Chops, which will be available along with some Veal and Shrimp and Eggplant and Calamari and Chicken and Pasta and Mussels and Clams and.....We'd love to see ya'!

On our wine feature board we continue to offer the Cab from Joel Gott and the Sangiovese blend from Ferrari-Carano, Siena, as well as the wines that I added last week - the Pinot Noir by Highway 101 which comes from the Central Coast region of California, and the Priorat from Spain by Bodegas Mas Altas. This Pinot offers the fruit one would expect from this region, yet is balanced with moderate tannins - good on its own or with your meal. The Priorat is more of a food wine, typical of old world wines, and being mostly Garnacha, or Grenache, is very good with our menu. I also have some other new wines up my sleeve, including a Bordeaux style blend from Washington state, a Pinot from Oregon that when room is available will be on the feature board, and a higher end blend from Spain featuring Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon. I also expect the return to our program the excellent Super Tuscan from La Massa, which we used to offer before they fell off the map as they changed purveyors. I was finally able to track them down, and this Cabernet, Merlot and Sangiovese blend is excellent. It looks like 2015 might be a fun year for wine (aren't they all?).

Thanks you again for all your support, and it is very gratifying to us to see you after all these years, and in spite of, shall we say, chilly weather. We hope you are well, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Ciao

P.S. Wasn't that Ohio State game just amazing? Congrats to the Buckeyes and all their alums, and to all of us who rooted for them. Hooray!!!
