Faculty development moves forward in 2015

Two opportunities for faculty development are underway for 2015. Teaching Partners are paired across disciplines to give them an opportunity to meet colleagues in a field outside of their own and to be exposed to new teaching perspectives. The Tech Select program provides monthly training for chosen faculty in a wide variety of educational technologies. In addition to monthly training, Tech Select integrate technology into their classrooms and community.

Dean's List announced

The grades are in for the 2014 fall semester and a total of 580 students had a GPA over 3.75, including 171 with a perfect 4.0, to earn dean’s list honors at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College of Professional Studies. Congratulations to all! Read More

It's not just personal, it's business.

The UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics (SBE) has made great leaps in recent years. It still offers the same educational foundation many of its proud alumni reflect back on, but the school has grown and evolved. Since 2008, increased demand and new course offerings have resulted in a 30 percent increase in student credit hours. And the number of majors has increased by roughly 60 percent during that period. That growth has created a great deal of excitement and opened doors to new possibilities — notably accreditation. Read about the exciting changes in the new SBE viewbook.

Listening to her passion

“I didn’t always know what an audiologist was, but I always knew I wanted to be one,” said Doctorate of Audiology candidate Lucy Woerfel ’17. When she was in the fifth grade, her two-year-old cousin Billy was diagnosed as being severely hearing impaired, igniting a passion that would determine her education and future career. Read More
