ENERGY STAR UPDATE:
Congratulations to the 27 buildings that earned their 2014 Energy Star Label last year.
To achieve certification, buildings must meet strict energy performance standards set forth by the EPA. For Parkway, it also means saving energy, money, and gaining special recognition!

ENERGY STAR has created a new recognition program for owners of multiple buildings. On December 12, 2014, Parkway got 27 buildings Energy Star Labeled and was recognized as a Certification Nation Premier Member in honor of ENERGY STAR’s 15th anniversary. As part of the program, Parkway was featured on their website which you can visit here.  Congratulations to everyone who diligently worked toward receiving their ENERGY STAR labels!

LEED VOLUME PROGRAM
25 Parkway Buildings are enrolled on Parkway's LEED EBOM Volume Program!
Last year we obtained official USGBC approval for Parkway's LEED Volume program Prototype. Cal/EPA was officially recertified as a LEED EBOM Platinum building and nine additional buildings are working on their recertification documentation. In addition, in February of 2015, eleven Parkway buildings kicked off their initial LEED certification efforts simultaneously under the Parkway LEED Volume Program. Under this special program managed by Verdani Partners, the following buildings are now on target to earn the prestigious LEED Certification by 2015-2016.
2014 PERFORMANCE DATA HIGHLIGHTS
LOBBY LIGHTING RETROFITS:
MARQUEE ASSETS IN CHARLOTTE, NC
Congratulations to the Hearst Tower and NASCAR Plaza's onsite engineering teams for completing their lobby lighting retrofits and achieving a 1.5 year and 6 month respective pay backs! It's important to continue to look for efficiency improvements for our buildings and to reduce operating expenses. If you have any successful projects you would like to share please click here to contact the sustainability team.
THE REEF PROJECT:
ONE ORLANDO CENTER

One Orlando Center's new Central Plant came online in early 2015 and it promises to generate significant energy and water savings. Upgrades include new Cooling Towers that use less than half the water of the older towers. The old chiller was sunk at a depth of 100ft to create an artificial REEF and provide new habitat for the marine life. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting capital project as more energy and water performance data becomes available!

REEF was deployed on March 25th through the 26th. The chiller , including a granite plaque. Special thanks to REEF Developer, David Walter of Reefmaker Artificial Reefs & Marine Ecosystems and to TRANE representative, Chris Saint John who paid for shipping to the reef site. TRANE is working on a case study on payback for the whole mechanical upgrade.  Please watch our GoPro video of the REEF installation below.

BUILDING WIDE COMPOSTING PROGRAM:
300 WEST 6TH STREET

Tenants on all 23-stories of 300 West 6th Street have reduced their waste through an innovative composting program which began in 2013. In 2014 tenants composted 14 tons of food waste. This equates to 28,000 lbs of food waste diverted from the landfill
For more information on workplace composting read here.
