Are you involved and want to get academic credit for your involvement? Join us over coffee and refreshments to provide feedback about an up and coming Leadership Certificate. Focus Group Sessions are all located in SSLC 559. Jan 20th and 21st at 3pm and 4pm. Please stop by to provide your input about a practicum class and help brand the Student Leadership Certificate. Parking Services is extending Safe Zone Parking Hours!  Safe Zone Parking allows individuals that enter and exit Woodside or Eden Garages during the designated hours to exit for $1.00. The new hours, beginning January 12, are 8:00 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.  We hope this will make parking on campus for late night studying, group meetings and access to other facilities on campus, such as the Rec Center, a great option for you and your group!
UC Hepcats formally invites you to join us every Monday at the 86 club! Stop by for our free lessons at 6pm, no partner nor experience needed. Then dance, try on of the 86 clubs amazing drinks, and have something to look forward to on Mondays! For more information find our group on FB under UC Hepcats.

Student Safe Housing Fair

Are you still looking for a place to live in Fall 2015? The Student Safe Housing Fair will showcase both on and off-campus housing options and provide information from a variety of university and community resources discussing topics including crime prevention, fire safety, tenant/landlord information, budgeting, transportation, utilities. Starting in spring semester, our new Peer Facilitators will begin facilitating Safe Zone Training 101 for student groups!
If your student group is not safe zoned trained, now is the time to get signed.
Please email Leisan C. Smith at smiln@ucmail.uc.edu to schedule a time for your student group to become Safe Zone Allies.
The Center for First Year Experience and Learning Communities is currently accepting applications for Peer Leader positions!

The Center for First Year Experience and Learning Communities coordinates programs and services that guide undergraduate students to graduation.  Peer Leaders within the Center for First-Year Experience and Learning Communities are upper-class students who provide academic support, mentor and facilitate learning community meetings throughout the year.  

Position Description:
Peer Leaders are responsible for providing academic support and leading LC meetings twice each week with content focused on the FYE target learning areas, planning and implementing social events for LC members, and providing individual and small group mentoring. Peer Leaders attend weekly meetings, have weekly office hours and develop lesson plans to meet the needs of their students. Peer leaders must have experience and the academic background needed to address the academic needs and interests of their students. An important role of Peer Leaders is collaborating with faculty, advisors, organizations, and others to give students a high quality LC experience that prepares them for subsequent academic accomplishments.
•    Pays $8.10 hourly, working 8 hours each week.
•    Must maintain good academic standing (minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA)
•    Must hold sophomore or higher status by the start of Fall 2015
•    Dedicated to the Peer Leader position (limit outside work/volunteer positions to a maximum of 10 hours each week)
