Dear <<First Name>>,

We're thrilled to report that our church's income slightly exceeded our expenses in 2014. Your generosity helped us to develop and expand life-changing ministries last year.  Our Christmas Offering totaled $5,800. Some of these funds allowed us to offer radical hospitality to around 100 unhoused guests for a week through Winter Sanctuary and the remaining funds will support  Imagine No Malaria and Teen Success. Thank you for your support!

Year-end giving statements were available in worship last Sunday and will be available again this Sunday. We will mail statements early next week to anyone unable to be in worship. Please contact our Treasurer, Kevin Luttrell, here if you have any questions.

Pastor Linda and I are with colleagues this week in Santa Cruz for our annual clergy retreat with the Bishop. Our gathering has been focused on emotional resilience and we look forward to sharing insights from this week with you in the coming months.

This Sunday's worship will be rooted in the calling of the first disciples by Jesus in  Mark 1.14-20.  Simon, Andrew, James, & John leave their livelihoods and everything they've known to follow Jesus. The experience changed their world.  My message will hold this story from Mark in conversation with research by contemporary neuroscientists regarding the role dreams can play in shaping our understanding and our worldview. A night's sleep can literally change our world.   How might our dreams call us to let go of business-as-usual en route to following the radical ways of Jesus today? I hope you'll join us Sunday as we draw to a close our series What Keeps You Awake at Night?

Peace,

Matt
