Analyzing 62 investors who could bankroll a Lyft mega-round.

Uber rock & hard place

Hi there,

Lyft is looking to raise a large round of financing. This was inevitable given the capital advantage its main rival has. Uber, after all, was on the receiving end of the 2 largest tech financings of 2014.

We analyzed 62 prominent late-stage investors (VCs, corporates, hedge funds and private equity funds) who might have the dollars to fund a Lyft mega-round to identify the most viable targets. The list has some familiar and unfamiliar names but overall, the list is not huge. Perhaps Uber CEO Travis Kalanick's effort to kneecap Lyft's funding actually were succesful?

We're #2, We're #2!

Speaking of Lyft funding, are there good examples of #2's in an emerging market who've come back and taken the #1 spot?

I'm sure there are but none came to mind. Any?

Best,
Anand
