bicyclespace wheels into the mvt

Quadrangle Development and The Wilkes Company announced in December that BicycleSPACE, Washington, DC’s leading bike shop, signed a lease for a new 4,000+ square foot space at Lyric 440K. BicycleSPACE will occupy approximately half of the building’s retail space, alongside the new bakery concept by the owners of Georgetown’s Baked & Wired. Mission First Housing, Golden Rule Apartments and Henson Development last month celebrated the opening of the SeVerna on K, with 133 new mixed-income apartments that include units set aside for displaced area residents. The nine-story building includes studio, one and two bedroom units with underground parking. Amenities include a club room, fitness room, business center, lounge, and roof deck with views of the Capitol. The SeVerna on K is part of the Northwest One New Communities Plan and its opening marks the completion of the redevelopment of the former Golden Rule Center site. 2015 is a banner year

Colorful new banners have been installed on all of the Triangle’s streets, highlighting with bold graphics the vibrant nature of our neighborhood. Pedestrians and drivers will find their travels brightened by the colorful light post-mounted images, which reinforce the branding of the Triangle as a family-friendly, walkable (and runnable!) live-work-play neighborhood with a lively restaurant and retail presence.


 
mvt cid seeks summer marketing intern
 
The MVT CID seeks a summer intern responsible for supporting its marketing and communications initiatives as well as assisting with event planning, coordination and logistics. The position will be part time, 20-25 hours per week. Qualifications include at least one year of college with coursework in Communications and/or Public Relations, strong writing skills and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. happy anniversary to alba osteria and silo

Local restaurants Silo and Alba Osteria are celebrating one-year anniversaries this winter. Both have quickly become go-to favorite places for residents and office workers, hosting neighborhood nights and working with the MVT CID and other neighborhood businesses to sponsor events and support the community. This week you can sample Alba Osteria’s special Restaurant Week menu. On January 24th, join Silo and many of your friends and neighbors as they celebrate Silo's anniversary with complimentary small bites, a DJ and dancing!


it's ladies night!

On Tuesday, February 3rd, join the fun as 5th Street Ace Hardware hosts its annual Ladies Night. This iconic event attracts women (and men!) from around the community for 20% full store discounts and numerous DIY demonstrations, raffles, free drinks and nibbles.
MVT CID at the dc economic partnership annual meeting
 
On December 9th, MVT CID staff (including Real Estate and Planning Manager, Jerome Raymond, shown right) attended the Washington DC Economic Partnership Annual Meeting and Expo, and provided MVT development and business opportunity information to businesspeople, government officials and real estate leaders. The event attracts hundreds of professionals from the DC area to share ideas, work on new business and hear from top DC leaders on the state of doing business in our city. WDCEP also released its Annual Report and an exciting new video highlighting development in 2014.
