Greetings!

How’s your GEMSTM IQ?

Teepa Snow, a national expert on dementia care, has developed a classification model called GEMSTM  that compares different states of being and ability to the characteristics of precious jewels.  Sapphires, Diamonds, Emeralds, Ambers, Rubies and Pearls - each jewel represents a different stage in the progression of dementia. And each description focuses on strengths and capacity instead of limitations and loss.

In her “Positive Approach to Brain ChangeTM” trainings Teepa provides tools and strategies to assist with creating a positive response and a positive environment for each stage of dementia. Teepa believes “All individuals, whatever their state of being, in the right setting and with the right care, can shine!”
