100,000 households to benefit from new Newcastle Disease vaccination partnership launched in India

GALVmed has partnered with Heifer International once again to bring the Newcastle Disease vaccination to 100,000 households in the Mayurbhanj district of Orissa, India

As part of the project, 237 vaccinators will be trained to undertake the Newcastle Disease vaccination. As well as controlling the disease, the project will provide income for the vaccinators. The vaccine will also be available in six retail outlets in the area. In addition, Heifer International will work intensively with 20,000 of the households. This work will include proper care, feed, housing and vaccinations of backyard poultry.

The UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network is hosting the 1st Veterinary Vaccinology Network Conference in the UK. The conference will discuss vaccine advancement and will provide a forum for innovative vaccine research. The conference will be held on the 16-17 February 2015. Find out more here.
