Calling all members

Join us at the Loretto Center to learn more about the Don't Shoot Coalition

PEP will be hosting our first member event of the year on Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 pm at the Loretto Center (590 E. Lockwood).

Joining us will be Michael McPhearson, the director of Veterans for Peace, and Denise Leiberman, senior attorney with the Advancement Project. They're also the co-chairs of the newly formed Don't Shoot Coalition.

Michael and Denise will share with us what the coalition has been working on and what we can expect moving forward. There will also be time to engage and interact with members of the board and other PEP members.

New year, new budget woes

A budget was passed for the new fiscal year, but where does that leave us? The Coalition on Human Needs is hosting a webinar to answer those questions: The New Congress and Federal Funding for Needed Service: What You Need to Know.

The webinar will be led by Joel Friedman and Ellen Nissenbaum of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, and will go into how and when Congress will take up its new round of budget decisions. Deborah Weinstein from the Coalition on Human Needs will also have important steps you can take to protect vital services.

Register here to take part in this webinar.
Thursday, January 22
12:00p.m. - 1:15p.m. CS

They're also polling: what do YOU think are national priorities for the State of the Union? Hope to see you at the Veterans for Peace SOTU watch party

Save the date! PEP's annual fundraiser and silent auction will be May 30th at Nerinx Hall, featuring the young performers from the St. Louis Teen Talent Contest.
