Two seasons two images

By Luka on Jan 30, 2015 03:26 pm

Slovenia has four wonderful seasons for photography. I can’t decide which is my favorite because each one has its own qualities. I do like the contrast between them and here I share two shots, two different scenes photographed in two different seasons.

Both scenes were photographed at a farmhouse near lake Bled. The “green ones” were photographed in early May and the “white ones” today, late January. Also light is very different, a gentle sun through morning mists in May and heavy snowfall in January…

Slovenian countryside
Hayrack in snow

A wooden hayrack. Love this old structure, it barely holding together and it wonderfully complements distorted apple trees in the background.

Apple tree orchard
Apple tree orchard in snow

Apple tree orchard. This is a traditional way of growing apples at Gorenjska region. Now days most of the orchards are very industrial mono-cultures which are commercially more successful but less sustainable.
