“drop me into
the silent ocean
and lose me.
— a prayer to Grace.”
— Bhagavati
Everything is connected.
That includes you.
If you don’t believe me, look now, discover for yourself.
How are you separate from the earth? How are you apart from the birds, the forests, the flowers, the ocean? Is a leaf not a part of a tree, is a tree not a part of a forest, are forests not the lungs of the earth?
Is a drop not a part of the ocean? If separated in some way, does it not find it’s way back to the ocean?
Even if it must evaporate, becoming vapour, rising to join other vapour, to become a cloud, it will eventully form a drop, and fall back into the ocean, or to earth, and run off into a stream, joining a river, finding it’s way back to the ocean.
What if this drop that you are, is part of some greater flow? What if you have no control over the current that guides it?
What if you are not you? The you whom you have believed yourself to be, for so long, devoid of separateness, blessed with simplicity of being.
Everything is connected.
Tell me, how are you apart?
Love,
Bhagavati
