A belated happy new year to you..
I hope 2015 is treating you well so far. Like many of us I lost half of January to 'flu so I'm playing catch up now and am slightly alarmed to find it is already February, which means things are about to become very busy indeed.
In case you have been similarly taken by surprise at the speed of February's arrival, I thought I would remind you about my 2015 workshop programme which now starts in just a few weeks instead of 'sometime next year'. A couple of classes are already fully booked but there are places available on others. I've highlighted below the next two dates which have spaces - both are Art at the Café watercolour masterclasses held upstairs at the lovely Me & Mrs Fisher tea room in York. As well as all materials these days include a buffet lunch and afternoon tea and cake, along with good company and plenty of laughter. Groups are limited to just four places so you get a lot more attention and individual tuition than at many art workshops - you'll be amazed at what you can achieve in a day. ( Click here if you'd like to see some of the nice things students have said about their experiences.)
Advance notice - studio closure. Before launching into a prolonged spell of hectic activity, I'm going to be taking some time off while I still have the chance. The shutters will be going up on my Etsy shop late on 11 February and emails and workshop bookings received after that will be attended to at the beginning of March. But don't worry, the PayPal system knows how many workshop places are available and it won't let you pay if a class is full; so as long as you are able to checkout and you get a payment confirmation from PayPal then you're in and your place is secure.

New print -
'Velvet Ears'
This print of a sleepy dachshund puppy is brand new in the shop this morning and I have to admit I'm rather pleased with it. As with the mini-prints I showed you in December, it combines collagraph and monotype techniques; only the outline and eyes are actually cut into the plate while the rest of the image is created entirely by how the ink is applied and wiped for each imprint, so every print produced is effectively unique.
image size 15 x 15 cm
limited edition of 15
£50

That's all for now. See you next month!
