The Weekly Catch
I finally escaped for a few hours of fishing yesterday on South Boulder Creek. Flows were low and I think I saw one midge in the air. Many anglers had the same idea I did this day when the temps were 60+ fahrenheit. I hiked a mile or so downstream to some uninhabited water and started casting a size 22 CDC-winged midge. After no action for a while I switched to my old standby, a size 16 Royal Wulff, and within minutes enticed three fish to sample the point of my hook. I finally ended up catching the longest nine inch trout on the planet and called it a day. On the hike out, my body and lungs were screaming at me...."You've been working too hard, you fool!"
