Thunderhead Organ Trio is very proud to be performing for this really great gallery opening, part of Newburgh Last Saturdays.The group features Joe Gil (trombone), Jason Furman (drums/sampler) and yours truly on keyboards. We start early - 5:30 pm - and since it's a gallery there's no cover. Come on out and check out the art; then see what else is going on in Newburgh! The 1st Tuesday of every month is the date for an ongoing Open Mic series at Dogwood in Beacon, hosted by the amazing Decora:Poet. Not your average open mic - you have to come down to see for yourself! I'll be popping beats and loops all night to back up all the various poets, artists, singers etc.
...Maybe even YOU.
The first Mr Goneshow this year is at Trumpets in Montclair NJ on Feb. 5th. We always have a great time there, and our special guests for this show are the fabulous Bergen Catholic High School Jazz Ensemble (under Peter Furlan's direction). It's the usual cast of characters, with Pete on Saxes, Ratzo Harris on bass and the always sublime Terry Silverlight on drums. $15 at the door.

The ThunderHead Organ Trio continues their monthly residence at the Wherehouse in Newburgh on third thursday of every month. Our next show is Thursday February 19th. We've been having a blast, and each show gets wilder & wilder...! Be on the lookout for special guests to drop by - I can't say who just yet. We've been hard at work in the rehearsal studio working out some new material including stuff by King Crimson and The Meters as well as new originals. There's never a cover, so please come out and enjoy their awesome beer selection & great menu. As always, it's Joe Gil (trombone), Jason Furman (drums/sampler) and yours truly on keyboards. No Cover, massive beer selection and the food is awesome. :) 8:00 pm!
